A Cleaner Future-Air Pollution
http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/global-warming/pollution-overview/Air pollution has been a known issue for quite a while on our planet, but air pollution shows up in many different forms, some air pollution looks like smog in the sky while other air pollution is clear. The most known type of air pollution is carbon dioxide which is a byproduct of cars, humans, planes, and power. Another known type of air pollution is sulfur dioxide, which is part of smog. But these sulfur dioxide particles also reflect light when released in the atmosphere, which keeps sunlight out and causes Earth to cool. Many different places say that they have tried to reduce levels of sulfur dioxide, smog, and smoke in order to improve their area. But what has been happening could not have been predicted, lower sulfur dioxide levels may actually make global warming worse. Many different people have tried to reduce their "carbon footprint" and make the world more air friendly. We just have to get everyone in this world working towards a cleaner future.

This is really cool! I wonder if we could find a way to use sulfur dioxide or a similar substance to counteract the effects of "greenhouse gases" while making sure to not harm anyone's health.

ReplyDeleteI found it interesting that sulphur can actually help the air because it blocks out sunlight. I wonder how big companies will respond to the Kyoto Protocol?

DeleteThey're multiplying!

ReplyDeleteI believe the best way to stop the world from basically becoming a real-life young adult science fiction novel, there has to be limitation to the amounts of gases and smog companies can release. But, if this is done, it could affect the companies and products the pollution is used to create, thus effecting the economy and maybe other aspects of life, which is why the government is stalling to answer the question of "global warming"

ReplyDeleteIn my post, I talked about how oil & other fuel companies are polluting the air but the reason they won't stop is because their buisiness would stop & then they would lose $money$, because all Americans are $Money$ Worshipers!

ReplyDeleteI did an analysis similar to yours about air pollution and how much carbon humans use in our everyday lives. I agree that we need to cut our use so we can have a cleaner, healthier future!
ReplyDeleteIn your article it talks about reducing one's carbon footprint and I think that is a major reason for global warming. Most everyone puts more carbon into the air than energy into stopping this issue.
