World Issue - Overpopulation

Population is currently at a steep increase due to better medical care, better technology, immigration, and an imbalance of birth and death rates. We need to control the population so that we don't run short on resources, have conflicts and wars, more pollution, and higher unemployment rates. Fortunately, there is a lot we can do to to keep that from happening, including many forms of education like teaching people about birth control, family planning, and just better education in general.

Surging Seas

We might be having a drought, but rising sea levels are a big problem everywhere.
In this article I read, it talks about islands, specifically the Bahamas building sea walls to protect from devastating floods. This rise in sea waters is due to climate change. The article said, "NASSAU, May 29 (IPS) - Small Island Developing States (SIDS) have championed the phrase "1.5 to stay alive" in demanding that global temperature increases be kept as far below 1.5 degrees C as possible to limit the anticipated devastating effects of climate change on the world's most vulnerable countries."

If the sea level rises 5 feet, the bahamas will be completely gone under the waves. This is a huge problem and there must be some way we can prevent climate change that will be quick and protect our land so it doesn't all become water. I don't know about Massachusetts, but mill valley would definitely go under water if sea levels rose too much.

deadly droughts

In my video I talk about droughts throughout the world, and how we need to make a change. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM8UxMltPoE

21,000 children die each day, and no one knows!

In my video, I talk about the global issue of dieing children each day of our lives. It is very important for everyone to be educated on this issue and to help solve it.
I hope you enjoy!

Keep the Environment Clean

Climate Change: What can you do?

Obesity in America

http://www.publichealth.org/public-awareness/obesity/

Popular companies such as Lays or Coca Cola are lying when they say that their product is healthy and better than any other competing brand. By using the familiar terms, zero calories and 30% less fat marketers are making it seem like their product is better for you when actually it's the same as getting  a bag of potato chips. These lies are contributing the the problem we have at hand. In the article it states that the way we can combat obesity at a young age is having recess, Sports Programs, and also healthier lunches provided. If we used these initiatives then we could hopefully but down the rates of obesity in America.

A Cleaner Future-Air Pollution

http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/global-warming/pollution-overview/Air pollution has been a known issue for quite a while on our planet, but air pollution shows up in many different forms, some air pollution looks like smog in the sky while other air pollution is clear. The most known type of air pollution is carbon dioxide which is a byproduct of cars, humans, planes, and power. Another known type of air pollution is sulfur dioxide, which is part of  smog.  But these sulfur dioxide particles also reflect light when released in the atmosphere, which keeps sunlight out and causes Earth to cool. Many different places say that they have tried to reduce levels of sulfur dioxide, smog, and smoke in order to improve their area. But what has been happening could not have been predicted, lower sulfur dioxide levels may actually make global warming worse. Many different people have tried to reduce their "carbon footprint" and make the world more air friendly. We just have to get everyone in this world working towards a cleaner future.

Not Enough Water

Because of the drought in California many plants any animals have been forced out of their habitats because they are inhabitable. Will the lack of water eventually kill of some of our most beloved species?

US problem- the effects of global warming in the United States

This is late, I know, but it's a problem facing the United States.

The world has problems 🌎

A way we can keep water levels high is we can cut back the use of water in different ways, such as taking shorter showers and watering plants after the sun goes down. Overpopulation and pollution serve big factors in the decline of our drinking water. Pollution is also a big problem on Earth, a way that we can fix it is we can recycle more, use biodegradable products, and a more effective way of travel (less gasoline).
